Israeli born – New York based Saxophonist/Composer, Uri Gurvich, returns to the Kerrytown Concert House, this time presenting his new project ‘Uri Gurvich’s Blues Quartet’.

The new project features a chord-less Quartet with recently awarded ‘Downbeat Rising Star’ trumpeter Adam O’Farrill and the acclaimed Bulgarian bassist, Peter Slavov and Cuban drummer, Francisco Mela, both long-time collaborators of Gurvich.

The Uri Gurvich’s Blues Quartet explores Blues music in its various forms and fuse it with folkloric elements from the Middle East, South America and Africa. As one of the first original genres within American music, Blues music encompass a wide range of emotions from being an uplifting force, to portraying triumph, pain, healing, community and much more. With this new band Gurvich aim to portray this rich variety of elements and emotions.
