TZU-YIN HUANG, piano

Liszt, Brahms, and Beethoven: Inspiration from Nature, Poetry, and the Inner Self

Sunday July 26 @ 4:15 PM

Dr. Tzu-Yin Huang is a multiple award-winning pianist – most notably, the recipient of first prize awards at the Hastings International Piano Competition in East Sussex, and at the Wideman International Piano Competition in Louisiana. She received her doctorate from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater, and Dance where she studied with Logan Skelton and also with KCH favorite, Louis Nagel. In all her studying, Tzu-Yin has learned that “…the most important thing is to play from the heart. It is only this way that allows music to touch people’s souls.” Her program will celebrate composers from the romantic period with works by Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt, and Balakirev, exploring the inspiration they found in nature, poetry and the inner self.
