Join pianist, Kathryn Goodson in a program of works by Brahms, Mozart, Bruch, and more, featuring John Madison (viola), Wilfredo Figueroa (clarinet) and Monica Swartout- Bebow (mezzo soprano).
This lyrical program includes Johannes Brahms’ Zwei Gesänge Op. 91 for voice, viola and piano, and the seminal E-flat major Sonata Op. 120, No. 2, as well as selections by Max Bruch, W.A. Mozart, Astor Piazzolla, Florence Price and Ellen Rowe.

Pianist Kathryn Goodson, an international performer, teacher and coach, has performed collaborative recitals with vocalists and instrumentalists throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. In her Ann Arbor, Michigan community, she is a coach for the University of Michigan School of Music and a regular ensemble performer for both the Ann Arbor and Detroit Symphony Orchestras. Her teaching projects include an annual course in American Art Song at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe and a master class offered to American schools, Songs4Winds. Her collaborative playing has been documented on CDs released by Innova, Albany and Equilibrium. Belle Nuit, a 2-CD set of romantic French music curated and produced by Goodson, was released by Parma-Navona Records with NAXOS distribution in 2014. Performance partners are bass trombonist Randall Hawes, saxophonists Timothy McAllister and Donald Sinta, and hornist Gail Williams.
John Alexander Madison received his Masters in Viola Performance from The University of Michigan and is currently the Principal Violist of The Michigan Opera Theatre. He performs regularly with The Detroit Symphony Orchestra and is a founding member of New Verse Chamber Ensemble. John is co-founder of The Cassini Ensemble, an Ann Arbor based award winning chamber ensemble that has performed extensively throughout the United States. John toured the US with The Chamber Orchestra of France and has performed with the New York City Opera, The Pine Mountain Music festival, and has appeared as soloist with The Detroit Symphony, also The Toledo, Grosse Pointe, Southfield and Jackson Symphonies. John recently joined the faculty of Wayne State University.
Prior to taking the reins as Artistic & Executive Director of Kerrytown Concert House in 2019, Monica was an active member of the KCH community for over 20 years as a performer, producer, studio teacher, and volunteer. Most recently, she has served as the newest creator and director of KCH’s popular cabaret concert series, Wine, Women, and Song! As a regional artist, Monica’s versatile singing and engaging performances have spanned a broad scope of genres from opera roles at the Lincoln Center Institute in New York City, to orchestral solo appearances with symphonies in Adrian, Toledo, Ann Arbor, and Graz, Austria, to jazz gigs at the Detroit Institute of Arts, and to cabaret clubs like Davenport’s in Chicago. Also a seasoned voice teacher, she held a long-term appointment on the voice faculty of Eastern Michigan University, and maintained a private voice studio in the Ann Arbor area for over two decades. Additionally, she is the Founder and Director of Front and Center Cabaret Works, LLC, a performing arts organization whose mission is to develop communication skills and self-confidence in young performers through the act of cabaret performance. A Michigan native, Monica lives in Ann Arbor with her husband, John, and daughter, Delaney, and holds a Master’s Degree with Highest Honors in voice performance from The University of Michigan where she continues to build artistic connections with students and faculty. Monica believes passionately that Kerrytown Concert House brings live performance to music lovers in an up close and personal way that is like no other in Ann Arbor! She enjoys building upon the concert house’s rich artistic history while also helping it expand and grow in meaningful, impactful and delightful ways.
Wilfredo Figueroa began playing clarinet at the age of 11 at the Harbor Performing Arts School in Harlem, NY. Mr. Figueroa continued his education at notable schools such as The Manhattan School of Music, Interlochen Arts Academy, The Juilliard School and The University of Cincinnati, ultimately earning a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance from The University of Michigan, where he was a student of Clarinet Professor Fred Ormand. He also studied with Ricardo Morales of the Philadelphia Orchestra, recently retired Northwestern University Clarinet Professor, Steven Cohen, and Oberlin Conservatory Clarinet Professor, Richard Hawkins. Wilfredo Figueroa is currently a clarinet instructor and chamber musician in southeastern Michigan.
