All About the Trio: Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan with special guest Sunny Wilkinson

Back by popular demand, Ellen Rowe and her trio present a concert/lecture series exploring the jazz trio. Take a behind-the-scenes look at the foundations of jazz with the insight of some of the region’s most swingin’ all-stars.​​

Pianist, composer, and educator Ellen Rowe and her trio pay tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan ​with acclaimed jazz vocalist, Sunny Wilkinson. Sunny has been on the jazz faculty at Michigan State University, Western Michigan University, Cal State Northridge, Fullerton College, and the Dick Grove School of Music. Presently she is adjunct faculty at Western Michigan University and an artist in residence at the University of Michigan. Sunny offers exceptional interpretations of music from various genres as well as several original compositions composed with her pianist/composer husband Ron Newman on her latest release on Sunchance Music titled Into The Light.
