Ruth Bardenstein

Ruth received her MFA from Eastern Michigan University in Studio Art (Graphic Design and Installation) and did her BFA work in Graphic Design at EMU as well. She currently has a studio practice and teaches Book Arts at Eastern Michigan University. Ruth’s work has been exhibited both locally and nationally.

Her work includes installation, book art, collage, typography, assemblage and graphic drawings which explore the connections and relationships across scientific, mathematical and artistic disciplines. Her interest in language, literary and philosophical texts, typography and symbol all inform her current work creating verbo-visual structures that attempt to expand the potencies of literary, analytic and graphic languages.

She has a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics and a Masters in Public Policy from the University of Michigan, and a M.S. in Operations Research from MIT. She has been a management consultant for over 30 years.
