Event Details

Celebrated Ann Arbor pianist and U-M Professor Louis Nagel presents two free lectures on the music of Beethoven on July 7 and July 10 as part of his week-long residency at KCH. He also performs two Beethoven concerts with selections other than the 32 sonatas: July 8 and July 11.

This performance is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts and a 2010 project grant from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs.

Louis Nagel, pianist, is winner of several prizes including the National Arts Club and Geneva International Competition. he has appeared in six New York recitals, the national Gallery in Washington, D.C., and radio and television broadcasts. Mr. Nagel has received critical acclaim for his performances in Australia, Canada and Europe. He has coupled his performing career with an equally distinguished academic one, having served on the piano faculty of the University of Michigan since 1969. No stranger to Kerrytown Concert House, Mr. Nagel has been featured pianist here many times and last season his fans here were treated to a series of very successful and engaging lecture recitals.
