Event Details

Kate Olson's latest original project "Siren" draws on influences as diverse as modern rock-influenced minimalism, electronic music and free improvisation. Most of her compositions feature group free improv sections couched in simple, consonant melodies. She seeks to explore the dichotomies between consonance and dissonance, written and improvised music. Her ultimate goal is to allow the individual personalities of her band members to be fully expressed. Fans of groups such as Happy Apple, the Bang on a Can All-Stars, and the Bad Plus are sure to enjoy what "Siren" has to offer.
