A Chamber Music Benefit Recital Supporting the Dexter Community Orchestra’s Youth Artist Competition

Event Details

The Dexter Community Orchestra presents an afternoon of chamber music, including a piano trio, string quartet, wind trio and brass quintet.
The proceeds from this event will go towards the continued funding of the orchestra's Youth Artist Competition. Selected by audition from the very best that the Ann Arbor area has to offer, these student musicians receive a cash prize and an opportunity to perform in concert with the orchestra. This year's recipient will be chosen in March 2018 and will join the orchestra on stage on May 6, 2018 at 4:00pm at the Dexter High School Center for the Performing Arts. The Dexter Community Orchestra is a musical group located in Dexter, Michigan. The DCO is dedicated to cultural enrichment through live symphonic music. The DCO seeks to provide the many benefits that can be achieved only through live musical performance. We are proud to offer a place for volunteer musicians to play and an opportunity for individuals and families to experience the magic of live classical music. Anthony Elliott

Anthony Elliott, Conductor of the Michigan Youth Orchestra at the University of Michigan, is in continuous demand as a conductor, and as a concert cellist. Equally at home with the bow or the baton, he has earned numerous awards, enthusiastic public acclaim, and excellent critical notices for his performances throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
